Understanding the Meaning of Tawakal Below

Derived from the Arabic word "وكّل" (wakala), which means "to entrust" or "to hand over." Simply put, it can be interpreted as completely surrendering oneself to Allah SWT in all matters, after one has made the best possible effort.

In a religious context, this concept indicates complete belief and trust that everything that happens is the will of the Creator and after making every effort, the final result is left to Him.

The way to practice tawakkul is to put in maximum effort. Do everything to the best of your ability and potential. Maximum effort is a form of worship and devotion to Him.

Then pray and ask for help. After making an effort, always pray for guidance and help from the Creator. Prayer is a form of acknowledgment that humans have limitations and need help from the Creator.

Then, accept whatever results you achieve wholeheartedly and be grateful for whatever results you've put in. You must believe that everything that happens to you is part of God's best plan.

Some Evidence of the Attitude of Tawakal

In Islam, this attitude is a form of heart worship that reflects a Muslim's faith in the power and wisdom of Allah. The following are several propositions from the Koran and hadith that emphasize the importance of surrender in the life of a Muslim.

1. Al-Quran Surah Ali Imran verse 159

Surah Ali 'Imran verse 159 " Then when you have finished your punishment, then put your trust in Allah. Indeed, Allah loves those who put their trust in Him ."

This verse emphasizes the importance of making an effort first before leaving the results to Allah. Allah loves every one of His servants to put in maximum effort and then leave the results entirely to Him.

2. Al-Quran Surah Al-Anfal verse 2

Surah Al-Anfal verse 2 " Indeed, those who believe are those whose hearts tremble at the mention of the name of Allah, and when His verses are recited, their faith increases (therefore), and only to God do they surrender. "

In this verse, the attitude of tawakkul (relief) is linked to a Muslim's deep faith in Allah. A true believer will feel calm and peaceful because they believe in His power in every aspect of life.

3. Al-Quran Surah At-Talaq verse 3

Surah At-Talaq verse 3 "And give him sustenance from a direction he does not expect. And whoever puts his trust in Allah, Allah will surely fulfill (his needs). Verily, Allah carries out His (willed) affairs. "

This verse shows that Allah SWT will fulfill the needs of those who submit to Him in unexpected ways. It demonstrates that all the needs of His servants will always be met through His power.

4. Al-Quran Surah Al-Mulk verse 15

Surah Al-Mulk Verse 15 " It is He who makes the earth easy for you, so walk in all its corners and eat some of His provision. And to Him you will (return after) being resurrected ."

This verse explains that the earth where humans live is a place to seek sustenance in all its corners. Then, after submitting, humanity will be resurrected to be held accountable.

5. Hadith of Tirmidhi

Hadith from Ibn Abbas "Rasulullah SAW said: "If you put your trust in Allah with true trust, you will surely be given sustenance as birds are given sustenance; In the morning he goes hungry and in the afternoon he returns full." (HR. Tirmidhi)

This hadith teaches that trusting in God does not mean abandoning one's efforts. Even a bird, lacking human intelligence, continues to search for food every day, and God continues to provide for its needs.

The arguments from the Qur'an and Hadith show how important the concept of surrender is in the life of a Muslim, as well as the virtues that will be obtained for those who are truly devoted to Allah.

By understanding and practicing this quality, as a Muslim, you can achieve inner peace and blessings in every aspect of your life. The attitude of tawakkul (religious ) is a combination of maximum effort and complete surrender to Allah.
