Rules and Ethics of the Online Quran Memorization Program

Because there are many benefits to be gained from memorizing the Quran. With the advancement of technology, Quran memorization programs can now be done online.

Of course, this is much more practical and makes it much easier for those who want to memorize the Quran. However, this program does have rules and etiquette that must be observed.

Some Rules and Ethics of the Online Quran Memorization Program

To memorize the Quran, you can now join an online Quran memorization program. Here are some rules and etiquette that must be followed, including:

1. Must have perfect temperament and morals

In participating in an online Koran memorization program, a memorizer of the Koran must have perfect temperament and morals. This means that they must be able to reflect the morals of the Koran, to adorn themselves with the morals of the Koran.

He must emulate the noble morals of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet is a living text of the Quran, a reflection of the Quran, as Sayyidah Aisyah said: "The Prophet's morals are like the Quran.".

2. A memorizer of the Qur'an must abandon everything that is prohibited by the Qur'an

A Quran memorizer must abandon everything forbidden in the Quran to honor the Quran. This means that a Quran memorizer should not ignore anything forbidden in the Quran.

In order to maintain the muru'ah and also the glory of the Koran. Imam Fudhail bin Iyadh advised memorizers of the Koran to maintain their attitude, because he is likened to the flag bearer of Islam. He said “The memorizers of the Koran.

He is the flag bearer of Islam, it is not fitting for him to play with those who play and forget with those who forget, and not to speak in vain about others because it is to glorify the Qur'an.".

3. A memorizer of the Qur'an must protect himself from lowly work

When participating in an online Quran memorization program, a Quran memorizer must avoid lowly work.

This means that someone who has memorized the Quran is prohibited from engaging in unlawful work, or work that could lead to sin and humiliation.

4. Must have a noble soul

A Quran memorizer must have a noble soul. This means a Quran memorizer must be pure from all kinds of negative prejudices toward others, and must guard his words and actions.

It is not appropriate for someone who memorizes the Quran to be rude, forgetful, or have a loud voice or be short-tempered. Those who memorize the Quran must have a noble soul.

5. You can't put yourself down

When participating in an online Quran memorization program , a memorizer must not demean himself. A memorizer of the Quran is of a higher rank than arrogant rulers and evil lovers of the world.

That means that someone who memorizes the Koran must not humble themselves and feel humiliated in front of an arrogant ruler. Nor do you become a servant of the world's scavengers, Imam Fudhai bin Iyadh said.

"Those who memorize the Qur'an are not allowed to ask for their needs from a caliph (ruler) or from those under his authority." Therefore, those who memorize the Qur'an are prohibited from demeaning themselves.

6. Must be humble towards pious people

If you want to participate in an online Quran memorization program , a memorizer must be humble toward pious people, both good and poor. This means being polite to everyone, especially pious people.

7. Must be devout in soul, calm and also dignified

A Quran memorizer must be devout, dignified, and calm. This means they should be calm in their appearance, patient in maintaining and preserving their memorization, and dignified in their speech.

8. It is not permissible to use the Qur'an as a source of income

If you want to participate in an online Quran memorization program , a memorizer is prohibited from using the Quran as a source of income. It's not appropriate for a Quran memorizer to need help from others, but it's best if they can afford it.

Meeting the needs of others, the Prophet reminded those who memorized the Quran to always be careful and not to make the Quran a source of income. He said, "Read the Quran and do not use it to earn a living.

Don't stay away from it and don't go beyond the limits in its teachings." Regarding this issue, Sayyidina Umar gave motivation to memorizers to always compete to do good and not depend on other people.

"O reciters of the Qur'an, raise your heads! The path is clear to you, so compete to do good and do not depend on others." Imam al-Mujahid when selecting imams.

The recitation of the Qur'an serves as a standard and reference in the Islamic world, not only for its wisdom and expertise. He noted its consistency in the field of Qur'anic recitation, but they did not rely on the Qur'an as a support or pillar of their lives.

"Ulama critics choose those (qira'at imams) who are good, practice their knowledge and do not make the Al-Qur'an the basis of their life," (Imam al-Syatibi, Hirz al-Amani wa Wajh al-Tahani fi al-Qir'at al-Sab'I.

9. You should always repeat what you have memorized

If you want to participate in an online Quran memorization program , the memorizer should continually review what he or she has memorized. He or she should not neglect the great mandate bestowed upon him or her, including reading and reviewing the Quran at night.

Because nighttime is a time of great blessings, Abdullah bin Mas'ud advised those who memorized the Quran to seize the opportunity when others were negligent.

He said: "It is better for someone who has memorized the Koran to read the Koran at night when people are sleeping. During the day when people are busy, sad when people are having fun, crying when people laugh.

Be silent when people are chatting, be devout when people are walking arrogantly.” Not only that, according to al-Ajurri al-Baghdadi, those who memorize the Qur'an must have the characteristic of piety towards Allah.

Being religious in one's appearance, lifestyle, clothing, and living environment, as well as understanding the current situation. Therefore, if you want to participate in an online Quran memorization program, you must adhere to these rules and ethics.
