Friends, there are important rules that need to be understood by memorizers of the Al-Quran, namely faith before memorizing the Al-Quran, strengthen your faith before interacting with the Al-Quran. Allah SWT. said,
Meaning: "Those to whom We have given the Book, they read it as it should be, they are the ones who believe in it..." (Al-Baqarah, 2: 121)
A journey about the process of becoming a Hafiz of the Quran. The best experience begins with a foundation of faith in the Quran itself. The belief that it is the word of God, and that everything happens by the will of Allah SWT, not by our own efforts. Of course, the prayers of our parents and ourselves are essential. The initial process of memorizing the Quran, or any interaction with the Quran, begins with true faith in the Quran.
There must be no doubt about faith in the Koran, because faith in Allah's Book is one of the pillars of faith. If this pillar is ignored then confusion and failure will be faced. What are the stages of learning the Quran, as exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)? Is it memorizing the Quran directly, learning tajweed, tahsin, or studying tafsir? There is a core and fundamental process: faith. There will be many temptations, distractions, and obstacles that will cause faith to waver as you interact with the Quran.
Interesting message from the Prophet from the history of Jundub bin Abdullah ra. explained in his hadith,
"Back when we were children with the Prophet Muhammad, we studied faith before studying the Koran. After that we just studied the Koran. So our faith grew stronger." (HR. Ibn Majah)
The purpose of learning faith is to learn the values contained in the Al-Quran, that is what must come first before memorizing or learning to teach how to read the Al-Quran. So that when children start to learn makharijul letters, tajwid and the correct way to read the Koran, at that time the child will already understand globally the teachings contained in the verses he is studying.

Ibn Umar ra. said,
"We experienced a time when we learned faith before studying the Quran. When the Quranic chapters were revealed to the Prophet (peace be upon him), we learned the laws of what is permissible (halal) and what is forbidden (haram). Also, the commands and prohibitions, and the rules that must be obeyed. Just as you now learn in detail how to read the Quran. But today I witnessed a man studying the Quran before learning faith. He fluently reads Surah Al-Fatihah and Surah An-Nas. But he doesn't understand the commands and prohibitions contained therein, or the rules that must be obeyed." (Narrated by Al-Bayhaqi)
Let us not be like the people who are used as a bad parable in the Al-Quran surah Al-Jumuah verse 5. Carrying the Holy Book but denying its contents, being given the task of guarding His Book but not believing in its contents, instead doing injustice by changing it. The problem is because there is no faith in him.
Allah SWT. says in surah Al-Jumuah,
"The parable of those who were given the task of carrying the Torah, then they did not carry it (did not practice it) is like a donkey carrying thick books. Very bad is the parable of a people who deny the verses of Allah. And Allah does not guide the unjust" (QS Al-Jumu'ah [62]: 5)
