1. Verses about Human Values

Meaning: "And seek what Allah has bestowed upon you (happiness) in the land of the afterlife, and do not forget your share of worldly (pleasures) and do good (to others) as Allah has done good to you. Do not do damage on (the face of) the earth. Indeed, Allah does not like those who do damage" (QS. al-Qashash, 28:77).

The verse above certainly explains that every human being is obligated to do good to others. In fact, God Himself has also set an example for humans to do good.

The relationship between fellow Muslims is fundamental to the humanitarian values of the Quran . Therefore, every Muslim is obligated to help others in times of difficulty.

This occurs without regard to religion, ethnicity, race, or skin color. Only by upholding human values does Islam demonstrate the greatness of its teachings.

For example, when the Quraysh infidels were defeated in the Battle of Badr, the Muslims buried the infidels who were killed in the same way as they buried other Muslims.

In fact, the wounded received the same treatment as Muslim soldiers. This is an example of humanitarian values the Quran teaches Islam to humanity.

2. The Importance of Understanding Human Values from the Quran

It is crucial for Islam to understand human values, as expressed in the Quran and Hadith. In fact, most verses in the Quran emphasize the importance of respecting the human rights of every individual. One example of the Quran's humanitarian values is the explanation in Surah Al-Hujurat, verse 13:

يٰٓاَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اِنَّا خَلَقْنٰكُمْ مِّنْذَكَرٍ وَّاُنْثٰى وَجَعَلْنٰكُمْ شُعُوْبًا وَّقَبَاۤىِٕلَ لِتَعَارَفُوْا ۚ

Meaning: "O mankind, indeed We created you from a male and a female and made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another."

This verse conveys the importance of brotherhood between humans. The Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad also explains the importance of respecting human dignity.

One of the most famous hadith is, "No one gives to anyone among mankind, until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself."

In this context, the humanitarian values of the Quran also encompass tolerance, respect for diversity, and the desire to contribute to the common well-being of humanity.

In addition, the goal of all these human values is to build a just, empathetic, and fair society based on Islamic principles.

3. Examples of Human Values according to the Koran

Essentially, human values emerge as a result of social phenomena occurring in society. There are several humanitarian values in the Quran , and here are five examples:

A. Love and Mercy (Rahmah)

Islam has taught every creature to be compassionate and compassionate. In fact, the Koran states that Allah is the Most Gracious and Most Merciful. As explained in Surah Al Baqarah verse 165, as follows:

وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يَّتَّخِذُ مِنْ دُوْنِ or God willing اٰمَنُوْٓا Allah's blessings God bless him ۙوَّاَنَّ اللّٰهَ شَدِيْدُ الْعَذَابِ

Meaning: “And among mankind are those who worship other gods besides Allah as rivals, whom they love as they love Allah. As for those who believe, their love for Allah is great.

If only those who do wrong would see, when they see the punishment (on the Day of Resurrection), that all power belongs to Allah and that Allah is severe in punishment (they would certainly regret it).”.

B. Justice (Fair)

Islam has also emphasized the importance of justice in all aspects of life. This includes the Quranic humanitarian values regarding social and economic relations and the legal system. As explained in Surah Al-Maidah, verse 8, below:

God bless you

It means: “O you who believe! Be upholders of justice for Allah, bearing witness with justice. And let not your hatred for a people incite you to act unjustly.

Be fair. Because (just) is closer to piety. And fear Allah, indeed, Allah is Careful in what you do.”.

C. Tolerance and Respect for Diversity

Islam also teaches respect and tolerance for racial, religious, and cultural diversity. Before God, everyone is equal. This command is found in Surah Al-Hujurat, verse 13.

God bless you وَّاُنْثٰى وَجَعَلْنٰكُمْ شُعُوْبًا وَّقَبَاۤىِٕلَ لِتَعَارَفُوْا ۚ اِنَّ God willing God willing

Meaning: "O mankind, indeed We created you from male and female. Then, We made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another.".

D. Sincerity and Integrity (Sincere and Trustworthy)

Islam itself also teaches the importance of having sincerity in all things, including honesty in both words and actions.

E. Mutual Assistance and Humanity (Ta'awun and Insaniyyah)

Islam encourages its followers to help others, especially those in need, regardless of race or religion.

This is only a small part of Islamic human values, which are taught based on the application of the Quran, Hadith (traditions of the Prophet Muhammad), and the teachings of Islamic scholars.

By practicing these human values, it is hoped that Muslims can build a just, empathetic, and harmonious society. This is in accordance with the teachings of Islam, which are full of compassion and peace.

Of course, ensuring that the humanitarian values of the Quran are implemented well will provide a solid foundation for a harmonious society.

And God knows best
