Emulating Allah SWT's attribute of Al-Quddus will have a significant impact on the lives of the people. Emulating Al-Quddus means always guarding one's words and utterances.

Understanding the Meaning of Al Quddus in Asmaul Husana

Al Quddus means God is Most Holy, pure, and full of blessings, free from all the shortcomings and evils that humans typically commit. However, God, the Most Holy, also loves His people who strive to always maintain their purity.

The nature of Al Quddus in Asmaul Husana itself comes from the classical Arabic word qd-s which means holy, clean, without stain, far from various forms of dirt or imperfection, becoming holy, sacred, sacred.

The attribute of Al Quddus means that no creature can demean or insult its holiness. This is supported in Surah Al-Jumuah, verse 1, which states:

يُسَبِّحُ لِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ٱلْمَلِكِ ٱلْقُدُّوسِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ

This means "what is in the sky and what is on earth always glorifies Allah Maharaja, the Most Holy, the Most Mighty, the Most Wise" (Q.SAl-Jumuah: 1).

Based on this understanding of Al-Quddus, humans, as creatures of the earth, are obligated to believe that Allah SWT is Most Holy. The attitude of sanctifying Allah SWT's name can be implemented in everyday life.

Exemplary forms that can be done include dhikr, prayer, sanctifying the name of Allah SWT through Asmaul Husna Al Quddus, and purifying oneself inside and out, both heart, thoughts, words and deeds.

Emulating Al-Quddus, its meaning and nature, through dhikr provides many benefits for humanity, including freedom from worry, suffering, hardship, envy, jealousy, greed, arrogance, and other negative traits.

This form of implementation in daily life is also in accordance with the words in surah Al-Ahzab verse 41:

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱذْكُرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ذِكْرًا كَثِيرًا

It means "O you who believe, remember Allah by remembering Him, remember Him much" (QS AL-Ahzab: 41).

Dalil Al Quddus in Asmaul Husna

Al Quddus means Allah is Most Holy, which is mentioned in several verses in the Al-Quran, QS. Al Hasyr verse 23 as follows:

هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْمَلِكُ love ٱلْجَبَّارُ ٱلْمُتَكَبِّرُۚ سُبْحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

This means "He is Allah who has no gods besides Him, the king, the Most Holy, the Most Prosperous, the one who gives security, the one who protects, the Most Mighty, the Almighty, the One who has all majesty, Glory be to Allah from what they associate with each other" (QS. Al-Hasyr: 23).

The nature of Al Quddus means that holiness belongs only to Allah SWT so that there is no name, attribute, substance, word or deed that resembles it. Other propositions are also mentioned in verses of the Koran.

1. "Glory to Allah from what they attribute" (As Saffat: 159).

2. "Always praise Allah for what is in the heavens and what is on the earth. The King, the most holy, the most merciful, the most wise" (Al-Jumu'ah: 1).

3. "(Remember) when your Lord said to the angels, 'I want to make a caliph on earth.' They asked, 'Are you going to create someone who will cause damage and shed blood there? Even though we glorify Your name and sanctify it," he said, "Indeed, I know what you do not know" (Al-Baqarah: 30).

According to Sheikh Tosun Bayrakal-Jerrahi, the attribute of Al-Quddus is equivalent to mukhalafah li al-hawadits (the Creator who is not like any creature), so holiness belongs only to Allah, and nothing resembles it.

Al-Quddus is inherent in the praiseworthy nature of humankind, meaning that Muslims have the ability to purify themselves. In this way, they can properly and correctly purify Allah SWT.

Besides Al-Quddus, the names of Allah SWT are often used in dhikr due to their majesty. Of course, by implementing them in daily life, Al-Quddus' meaning also becomes inherent in human beings' praiseworthy qualities.
