The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) prayed that Medina would receive twice as many blessings as Mecca. It was a city of peace and light. This article discusses the Quranic prayer, the wisdom of the hadith, and the Quranic perspective on Medina.

Quran Cordoba - Medina is a very noble city in Islam, there is a Nabawi mosque which is shining and also a blessing. There are graves of the Prophet and his best friends. This is a city that is holy and very beloved by our prophet Muhammad sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam.
Medina, also known as Thayibah, was formerly known as Yathrib. Medina Al-Munawwarah is known as the city of light of the Prophet Muhammad. It is a healthy city, and numerous hadiths speak of its virtues.
Imagine a city that is not only physically beautiful, but also has a “soul” that can remove the dirt from within itself.
A city that if there is evil, badness, or evil intentions, it will reject them—as if its earth and sky protect it from harm.
That is Medina, the city that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ called “ the good land” .
He said:
“ Indeed (Madinah) is a good land and will remove (the sins of) its criminals, as fire removes the impurities of silver .” (HR Muslim, 1384).
This analogy is beautiful. Silver will not be pure unless it is burned in fire to remove its impurities. Similarly, Medina purified itself, until all that remained was a pure faith and a good soul.

In the Medical Quranic concept, a city is not just a physical space, but also a spiritual field that influences mental and physical health. Medina is a prime example.
Why? Because the Prophet's prayers, the natural beauty, and the blessings bestowed by Allah have made Medina a center of positive energy. Entering the city brings comfort and peace to the heart.
Numerous studies have shown that a spiritually-charged environment can reduce stress, anxiety, and mental illness. Therefore, it's no coincidence that people feel calmer when they're in Medina.
Medina was directly chosen by Allah as the place of migration of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It was from here that Islamic civilization grew, from an oasis city to a center of world light.
Surrounded by mountains, Medina boasts a natural fortress protecting it. Its geography, as it were, supported the Prophet's prayer, making the city strong against external threats.
The blessings of Medina are not only evident in its natural resources, but also in its peaceful spiritual atmosphere. The hearts of the pious will feel at ease, while the hearts of the hardened and evil will be restless there.
Rasulullah ﷺ asked that Medina be blessed with more blessings, even more than Mecca. He prayed:
"O Allah, make the blessings in Medina double the blessings that You sent down in Mecca." (HR Bukhari, 1885).
This prayer is what gave Madinah extraordinary spiritual power and her requests to Him were answered.

"They said, "Indeed, if we return to Medina (from the Bani Mustalik war), surely the strong people will drive the weak people out of there." In fact, this power is only for Allah, His Messenger and the believers, but the hypocrites do not know." (QS. Al-Munafiqun, 63: 8)
"And the people (Ansar) who had occupied the city of Medina and had believed before (the arrival of) them (Muhajirin), they loved those who emigrated to their place. And they did not put desires in their hearts for what was given to them (Muhajirin); and they put (Muhajirin) first, above themselves, even though they also needed it." (Al-Hasyr, 59: 9)
There are two other verses listed in the pronunciation of Medina or its inhabitants, such as in At-Taubah verses 101 and 120. Apart from the Prophet's prayer, Muslims are also encouraged to pray for this holy city.
In Quranic prayers and dhikr, we find numerous teachings to pray for the goodness of the land and its blessings. Praying for Medina means participating in preserving its purity.

For many, Medina is a place of peace. Hajj and Umrah pilgrims often describe a feeling of peace when praying at the Prophet's Mosque.
This phenomenon is in line with the concept of the Medical Quran from the Cordoba publisher, where prayer, reading the Quran, and blessings of the place can be therapy for the soul.
Modern research also supports this. A spiritual environment can increase endorphins, reduce cortisol (the stress hormone) levels, and improve sleep quality.
In other words, Medina is not only a historical city, but also a natural "soul medicine" for a restless heart that longs for tranquility.
"By Allah! Indeed, you are the best of Allah's earth, the place most loved by Allah. If I had not been expelled from you, I would not have left you. [HR. at-Tirmizdi and Ibn Mâjah]
Not everyone can live in Medina, but we can bring the "spirit of Medina" into our own homes. How?
1. Liven it up with Quran recitation – The sound of recitation can soothe the heart and protect the home.
2. Increase remembrance and prayer - Make our home a shelter from anxiety.
3. Stay away from sins and evil – Cleanse your house from sins, evil deeds, and forbidden transactions that can bring negative energy.
4. Pray for Blessings for the Country - Just as the Prophet prayed for Medina, we can also ask that our country be blessed with goodness.

Medina is a good country. It cleanses itself of dirt, protects the nature of its inhabitants, and bestows peace on clean hearts.
Through contemplation of the Quran, we can understand that the remembrance of prayer in the Quran, health and blessings of a place, apart from religious spiritual concepts, also have the science of mental health.
Let us continue to pray for Medina, emulate its blessings, and create a "little Medina" in our homes. This way, our lives will be cleaner, healthier, and more luminous.
