Close to the Quran is the key to a healthy life both physically and mentally

Quran Cordoba - Want to change your lifestyle to be healthier, you can imitate the healthy lifestyle of the Prophet Muhammad. Prophet Muhammad SAW was the last Prophet and Apostle and was a good example for Muslims on earth.

Not only in his religious life, the Prophet Muhammad also had a pattern and lifestyle that could be applied to everyday life. In fact, according to history, the Prophet Muhammad only fell ill twice during his life: when he was poisoned by the Jews and before his death.

Implementing a Healthy Lifestyle According to the Prophet Muhammad

Rasulullah SAW was known to have a healthy lifestyle throughout his life, even though at that time there were no health experts or nutritionists like today. Moreover, maintaining health is the most important thing so that daily activities can be done well as well as worship activities.

1. Exercise Pattern

The Prophet's first healthy lifestyle was to maintain a fit and healthy body. Therefore, he regularly engaged in various sports activities.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) began his day with a regular walk, especially since the morning air was fresh and good for his health. Some of his favorite sports were horse riding, archery, camel riding, and running.

2.      Maintain a diet

The Prophet also consumed healthy, nutritious, and, of course, halal food. His breakfast included seven ajwa dates, which are believed to ward off various poisons and even witchcraft.

This has been explained through a hadith narrated by Bukhari and Muslim which states "whoever eats seven Ajwa dates in the morning regularly, poison and magic will not harm him that day."

In addition to dates, the Prophet Muhammad also regularly drank a glass of water and honey for breakfast. Research has shown that healthy breakfast, according to the Prophet Muhammad, can prevent cardiovascular disease. After breakfast, the Prophet Muhammad would eat only when he was hungry and would stop before he felt full.

3.      Maintain manners when eating and drinking

Apart from maintaining his diet, he also always maintains eating and drinking etiquette. The eating and drinking etiquette followed by the Prophet Muhammad SAW was to always recite prayers before and after eating.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also encouraged his followers to always sit when eating and drinking. Research shows that eating and drinking while sitting allows for optimal digestion.

Foods that can be digested to the maximum will also improve body health. Digested food will also make the body absorb energy faster.

4.      Fast

All Muslims who believe are required to perform fasting for one month in every Ramadan. In addition, Muslims are also delayed to fast on certain days such as Monday and Thursday.

Besides bringing rewards, fasting also offers health benefits. Fasting helps cleanse toxins and substances that accumulate in the body, such as the kidneys, digestive organs, and more.

5.      Maintaining body hygiene

the Prophet's health tips include maintaining bodily hygiene. A clean body automatically ensures better health. Therefore, the Prophet always strived to perfect his ablutions (wudu) and made it a habit to wash his hands, including between his fingers.

The other habit of the apostle to maintain cleanliness is to be chanting. He has the benefits of cleaning teeth and mouth, after that rinse with ablution.
